There are few places on this large, overpopulated Island that have the ability to transport you to another world, or feeling. And though the Met Rooftop garden in NYC can get annoyingly crowded, especially with the weather warming up, it’s the small, tranquil moments above the city that are truly special. Regardless of the chaos surrounding you, it only takes one look off yonder, into Central Park, or down onto the distant Manhattan below to have a moment of peace, or sanctuary. It’s hard to believe that can happen in this bustling city, but it can. It just takes concentration, the ability to lose yourself in a moment of beauty, and a lot of personal style. It might be a walled garden on the roof of a city building, but in those special moments, it feels more like my own, secret garden.
