December is going quicker then Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries marriage, so as time speeds by, and my perpetual list of stuff I want to do, grows, I’m starting to wonder how I am going to fit it all in. Not sure I will, but as any islander knows, the fun is in trying. Before December comes to a close, I’m obsessed with:
1)Going to one of my Ballet Barre classes that I just bought off giltgroupe. For $40, I get to go to 3 classes, (the $299 for an unlimited month is still available) and I’m so excited, because I’m kind of hoping this will become my new fitness routine. Perhaps I’m also subconsciously hoping I channel my inner Nina Sayers.
2) Going to see The Nutcracker at the NYC Ballet. Memories of dressing up in my best velvet dress and red Mary Janes, accompanied by my mom who took me every year still excite me just to think about. In some cases repetition is boring, but in this case, it’s tradition. It never gets old, and it’s so New York.
3) Going Ice Skating and eating Fondue at the Standard Hotel. I want to ice skate. I want to eat Cheddar Grilled Cheese sandwiches with fondue, and take silly pictures, all while circling a small piece of ice in the meat market. Can you think of anything more New York then that? Read more about what there is to offer on their blog
4) Seeing We Need to Talk about Kevin, the newest adaptation of a book to the small screen. Except in this case, I’m actually super excited to seeit, and unlike a lot of other times, I have not read the book yet, so I can’t be as judgy. This doesn’t come out nationwide until January 2012, but since it has so much buzz, and anything worth mentioning New York gets their hands on first; it is in a limited run at the Angelika Film Center
5)The Gifted; The holiday edition of the Brooklyn Flea. I peruse this every year, and this holiday will be no different, except that unfortunately I usually leave with less gifts for others, and more trinkets for myself. ‘Tis the season….
