Spicy lime margarita, the new drink from Skinnygirl cocktails is dangerous. Dangerous in that it’s delicious. And when drinks are delicious you don’t pay attention to how many you drink. That leads to dancing. A lot of it. With a lot of raucous New York housewives, including one very happy, returning housewife, Bethenny herself. The mogul is now returning to reality TV and Bravo, in the show that made her famous. Tuesday night was not only the celebration of her new Skinnygirl cocktails, but also a taping of the show and all around us camera crews taped every moment of the event. Ms. Frankel danced the night away with her RHONY and everyone else, also jumping behind the bar to serve her drinks and pose for some pictures.
The night, which benefitted Dress for Success was all spice, from the cocktails to the Valentines Day red dress theme. The Fifth Avenue Loft & Gardens shined brightly with red lights and various red fashion tones, while Manhattan margaritas and Pinot Noir Skinnygirl cocktails provided the perfect backdrop.
The spicy lime margaritas, which are less then 100 calories a serving are the perfect blend of bad and good girl. The smooth, reliable original with a new, spicy twist. And while I usually don’t like change, this is one I don’t mind adjusting to. Doused with extra salt, that and the new pinot noir flowed, high above the city.
This wasn’t my first interaction with Bethenny though. It was only a few years ago I became intrigued with a Place of Yes, even going to her B&N book reading, and getting my copy signed. Tonight, the Skinnygirl intrigued me again by adding more spice to her story… literally! Not only was the event a fun success, but the enjoyability factor of the drinks in turn increased my confidence factor. And that can actually sometimes make all the difference in the outcome of your night. In this case, confidence, and skinny girl in hand, we celebrated amongst the tops of cathedrals, Fifth avenue buildings and Saks Fifth Avenue. The spiciest skyline of all for the ultimate city girl.
