As warmer weather approaches, the list of activities goes up ten fold, and that goes for pop-ups, food fests, and of course, music festivals. And with that ubiquitous season comes something else that, though it also comes every year, is never quite the same; the style.
I’d love to go check out Coachella at some point, but until then I can just live vicariously through Insta madness, tweets a plenty, and some fabulous festival inspired fashion. The new NBD collection from Revolve Clothing has that laid back spirit in mind, filled with colorful matching sets, palazzo pants, and flowing maxi dresses like the peach one below.
As a top style hunter for People Style Watch, I got to pick out some of my favorite festive looks. This peach halter maxi dress by NBD reminded me of hazy, summer nights spent dancing at outdoor concerts. And because I was feeling in the festival mood, I paired it with my favorite velvet kimono from Kmart. That’s right. Kmart. I scooped up this fringed kimono from the Jaclyn Smith collection several years ago, and it’s gotten lots of wear. Now, as fashion comes around once again, I get to relish in the fact that I can enjoy the trend of the season without having to spend one cent. More money to spend on all these upcoming summer concerts.
Peach halter dress, NBD Skyfall maxi Dress, $188 at Revolve Clothing.com. Fringe Kimono, Kmart. Nike Dunk Sky High Liberty of London sneakers. Hat, thrifted. Necklace, J.Crew.
