Fall fashion week and February usually don’t mix too well in the city of New York, and this year, not only is that no exception, it’s one of the worst winters we’ve had in a long time. Several back to back snow storms have left all of us feeling gloomy, uninspired, and counting the days till spring. With the exception of a few stylish ladies, and the uber popular Olivia Palermo, it’s almost near impossible to look chic in a snowstorm, unless you’re willing to be freezing, and risk potential ankle twisting. I am willing to risk neither, so I headed up to day 1 of fashion week with my trusty Sorel boots which I have literally had on my feet for about 2 weeks straight. I saw many stilettos, many chic all black outfits braving the cold, and one of the biggest trends spotted, chic snow boots, also with 3 inch or higher heels. But me, I had to stay true to myself, and more importantly, my lack of gracefulness in 2 feet of slush and snow. If this means throwing jeans under my skirt, and rocking snow boots to Lincoln Center, then so be it. Sometimes fashion can be sacrifice, and other times, it’s the refusal to do so.

Black tulle skirt – I fell in love with this skirt after stumbling upon Varga on a recent trip to Santa Monica. Amazingly and shockingly enough, when I looked it up online, I found out the name of the item is the Blake Skirt!!! If that is not fashion literally calling your name, I don’t know what is!
