Every year around Christmas time and Valentines Day, swarms of couples get surprised, do some surprising, and decide to tie the knot. I finally fell into the former category late last year and have now officially been swimming in the engaged person pool. Just like most newly engaged couples, the exhilaration can last a while, but at the bottom of that high are questions and issues to address. The first of those will likely be cost and budget. But in spite of all those impending questions and issues following your newly changed status, one thing will, or should remain throughout; your love. The Hard Rock Cafe had exactly that sentiment in mind when they launched their One Love Bob Marley Signature Series wedding package earlier this month.
On Valentines Day, couples across the country got to say their “I Do’s” at Hard Rock’s in L.A., Vegas, and New York City. For the unbelievable cost of $100 love stricken duos were married at the Cafe, and treated to a minister, photographer, cake, ceremony, and even a small reception. Also included were matching Bob Marley signature series t-shirts as part of the restaurant’s partnership with the City of Hope. But the real prize at the end of the rainbow? (Besides being wedded to the one you love, yada yada yada..) A 4 day, 3 night Honeymoon to the famous and well loved all inclusive Hard Rock Punta Cana.
The day wasn’t exactly official for us. No marriage license yet, we didn’t have wedding rings prepared, and our attire was matching Mr and Mrs Star Wars t-shirts from Etsy. We even simulated ring exchange with other people’s wedding bands. True story! But none of that mattered. Our love was real, the sentiment was true, and we commenced with feeding each other some very real wedding cake. Proof that no matter how you get married, or what you spend, the underlying theme remains the same; to have fun together. And we certainly did!
Being engaged can sometimes feel like being caught between a rock and a hard place. But for us, and other couples who took part in the BIG day, our spot at the Hard Rock was an Easy place to be.
