Whenever I leave my precious island to venture on other adventures, like some cliched, albeit still fun apple picking, I always think of Baby Boom. In the 1987 movie, fast NYC executive Diane Keaton acquires a baby and moves to Vermont. Later, after she’s acclimated to her situation, a group of other, similar fast New Yorkers pass her by. Chris Noth, notably being one of them. Enamored with the general store, the New Yorkers prance around, and marvel at the wonders of $12 flannel shirts, and homemade baby food. And though we were nowhere near Vermont, New Milford, Connecticut to be exact, I still always imagine that scene. And I do love me a General store…..
