I feel a little like Ray Liotta in Good Fellas. As far back as I can remember, I’ve been a coffee addict. These days, coffee is like a religion in my household. I have several coffee machines, all varying degrees of effort, status, and needs. No morning goes by that my pot isn’t bubbling within minutes of waking up. I look forward to the mornings when I’m beat to the punch. The smell wafts all the way to the back of the bedroom, waking me up and pulling me towards the kitchen like a siren. Yes, sweet nectars of the coffee gods, I must have you. I’m usually pretty standard, hot in the morning. An iced latte in the afternoon. But I’ve recently discovered a new twist on my morning caffeine, and like a true addict I’m hooked. This mocha coffee breakfast shake is inspired by the recipe I saw on Mom Timeout, but with my own mark on it. And shall I say, it hits that mark!
This perfect for breakfast or an afternoon snack. The greek yogurt and powder give you your protein, the coffee wakes you up, and the rest satisfies your sweet tooth.
6 0z greek yogurt
1 1/2 tsp ground coffee
1 tsp cocoa powder
1/2 cup almond milk
1 1/4 scoop protein powder
Mix everything together in a blender and add ice. Mix for a few minutes until creamy.
