I mentioned last week I was starting the Always Eat After 7 pm challenge. The book and plan were created by best selling author Joel Marion. Joel’s a fitness expert and nutritionist using his platform to quash ubiquitous food myths of popular dieting. Instead, laying the foundation for a different kind of weight loss plan that ignores past traditional rules.
Changing diet lifestyles is never easy at first. But the book provides detailed weekly food menus that make it easy to stick to every day goals and meal planning. All beginning with the initial fourteen day acceleration phase.
I’ve mostly spent the last three and a half months in one position. Sitting on the couch, computer on my lap. But with summer fast approaching, and a brain trying to find its way through the fog I’m ready to change position. Literally and figuratively. So it’s time to get off the couch, get my health and wellness in check and prepare for bigger things ahead!
So, how difficult is the Always Eat After 7pm program to quickly implement?
Well, according to Marion, it’s not. In fact, as he says, “…that’s exactly why I wrote the book. While any diet is never truly easy, it can be more enjoyable and easier to adhere to when you understand how Always Eat After 7pm work. Because it caters to our bodies natural instincts.”
One of the biggest surprises in Always Eat After 7pm is learning something we were taught our whole lives, not to eat before bedtime, apparently isn’t true!
And not just that. Other traditions, like straying from carbohydrates are also apparently archaic and not even accurate.
Contrary to popular belief about food sitting in our bellies overnight, “Specific higher-carbohydrate foods (including berries and cherries) support your fat-burning metabolism while you sleep. They provide your body with a steady stream of fuel throughout the night. The trick is knowing how to combine them with other evening and pre-bedtime fat-burning foods. Because some will fuel your metabolism as you sleep.”
In the Joel Marion author interview, asked, what was your most surprising discovery while researching the scientific data for the diet?
Marion revealed, “….Almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.”
When describing what initially inspired him to write the book, Marion shares,
“After authoring 6 best selling books it was glaringly obvious there were 2 huge misconceptions about dieting that need exposing. The first is that you can’t eat late at night or before bed, which science now shows is NOT true. And second, you can’t eat large portions that satisfy your natural instinct. This book solves both these problem. It provides an evidence-based, enjoyable approach to dieting that can be used by anyone to quickly achieve weight loss goals.”
