FaBEElous fall 11 Prediction- # 3: In the Pipeline- Black and White Piping Accents

Last week I wrote a post on trend-setters, both those acclaimed, and self proclaimed, which got picked as a feature of the week by IFB! (still finishing off my shameless plugs of this exciting news..) I followed it with my (for now) 5 picks for fall11 trends to look out for. This week I highlight each of those 5 trends- 1 for every day.
Today’s focus I affectionately refer to as Jungle fever- # 3 on my list, Black and White piping. My obsession with this started a few months ago, and I had to do some major digging to find what fit the bill in my mind. Now, suddenly it seems I won’t have to look as hard this upcoming season- Piping accents are everywhere…..

Personally, I’ve always thought black and white are a great combination in any capacity, fashion or otherwise. This fall, the two are romantically involved again and they make a great pair.

In anticipation of this pairing, (in many different varieties; peter pan collars, piping on shirts, tuxedo pants), I purchased my first item, saved w/ tags on till September. My new, “silk”, white blouse w/ black collar and black pockets from Forever 21. Yes, it was inexpensive, but considering I will dip my hand in this trend a few more times before the season begins, I wanted to start low and work my way up.
I found a great white, silk dress at Theory with blue piping, but as much as I tried, it just didn’t look quite right. Another was too expensive to rationalize. And so the search for the perfect item continues to be in the pipeline….
