If you find yourself in the middle of the city, craving Italian, don’t fret. There’s delicious pasta in Midtown NYC within your reach.
So where do you find this pasta mecca?
Midtown. An epicenter of offices mixed with suburb style shopping and a transportation hub. Surrounded by tall buildings, and the massive MSG and Penn Station. It’s a mix of tourists and locals. This fast paced hood has a lot to offer commuters and residents. Endless fast food options line the streets. Several spots for a corporate or business lunch can also be found. But one thing’s noticeably lacking. Something between quick and fancy still feels absent. Enter Barilla restaurants. The inconspicuous place where a fast, casual pasta feast awaits. Hidden on the crowded street leading to Penn Station, it’s the spot for a comforting bowl of pasta in Midtown NYC.
Good pasta in Midtown NYC can be hard to find. Especially if you don’t want a long, or expensive sit down meal. Fast casual is on the rise for this reason. Barilla, (yes, that pasta brand!), has specialized in pasta and Italian cuisine since 1877. Seeing that need, their restaurants offer a variety of lunch and dinner options. These include freshly made pastas, salads, pizzas and panini’s. The menu even offers both vegan and vegetarian options.
Pietro Barilla’s belief that one should “give people the food you would give your own children” is Casa Barilla’s inspiration. A place that prides itself on gathering with good people for good, freshly made Italian. And turns out, April is a great time to come. In honor of International Carbonara Day on April 6th, they’re offering a special menu item. Chef Alfonso Sanna’s signature spaghetti carbonara.
The classic dish is typically made with five, simple ingredients. Though more chefs are expanding, testing new creations. For Barilla and Chef Alfonso, the classic doesn’t go out of style. His pasta carbonara includes crispy bacon, pasteurized cage free egg yolk, cheese, (Parmigiano and Pecorino), a touch of cream, and crushed black pepper with Barilla thick spaghetti.
Come congregate over heaping bowls of carbonara all month. The dish is available now through May 6th.
