Fur is always popular during the winter months of fashion, and this season, it mixes with one of the hottest trends from fall; the cape. Mixed together, they create a look that is half chic, half classic, and full style.
How fitting that just several months earlier, I purchased exactly that type of accessory at my annual Elephants Trunk flea market visit. A trip that also included the purchase of a powder blue rotary telephone, and old Life magazines. The look will come in perfect now, provided I have anywhere appropriate to wear it! And while that may be doubtful, my love of this vintage cape, especially when paired with a tulle skirt, is not. This year we also saw a huge trend, not just in clothes, but in the way we wear them. Notably, placing outerwear delicately on your shoulders, or draped over you was a huge look this year, worn by many fashionistas, and emulated by many others.
Since I have never been quite savvy enough to pull off that effortless drape, I love being able to try it with this look. And while it may not be easy to pull of, it’s certainly fun to try.
a perfect add on for some extra warmth and glamour.
