I am usually a pink girl. Or lately, a red girl. But this summer I suddenly became obsessed with blues and greens, especially during my trip to Turkey and Greece. And now, for Fall 2011, there is one color in my mind, that I can’t get out of head. Cobalt Blue. It started in August, when the insanity known as the Tory Burch summer sample sale had me falling in love with my first Tory bag; a dark blue quilted nylon bag w/ a long tan leather strap. I love this bag. It continued when I became further obsessed with the Chanel Limited Edition denim nail polish collection; in the end only purchasing 1 of the 3. And now, I begin to worry as the fixation continues. This past weekend, although I made a pact with myself to not shop for 2 whole weeks, I found myself stumbling into the City Opera Housing Works Thrift Shop. And as luck would have it, there waiting for my arrival was an amazing DVF not-too-mini skirt with pockets in the most amazing piercing blue for $45.oo. Would it be too much to wear the skirt with my bag, and my vintage sapphire pumps? Well, I guess that’s why they call it the blues…..
