Winter has felt never ending this year, but spring is finally showing signs of life. As the snow clears, and shoes move from boots, to sling backs and sandals, a change in mood begins. The more layers we begin to peel, the happier we get. And as the season shifts, it’s not just our attitudes that change. It’s our style too. We’re so close to shedding those sweaters completely, so here are some of the best 2019 spring trends to start sourcing now.
Since fashion is endlessly cyclical you can head, not just online, but to the back of your closet. You might find several of the season’s biggest trends already in your arsenal.
5 of the best 2019 spring trends:
Throughout the teenage years, I wore giant platform sneakers. After all it was the 90’s and I’m 5’1. I got made fun of endlessly. Memories of comments like, “um nice clodhoppers!” But all it takes is one uber chic model like Gigi Hadid and bam! Massive platform sneakers, (or dad sneakers, as the millennials call them) are flooding Insta feeds, and on the feet of stylish women EVERYWHERE.
This trend isn’t brand new, but it’s been blowing up more lately, proving to be one of the most popular 2019 spring trends. It’s unclear how long clunky sneakers will stay popular, and in fashion, to grab a pair while they’re hot.
Designer labels have never gone out of fashion, but excessive logo mania has been on the back burner for quite a while. But, no more. Logo love is back, and bigger than ever. In fact, it’s one of the biggest trends this season, and can be found pretty much everywhere. From Fendi’s Fila inspired collection to Gucci, and more it seems every designer is back on the 90’s logo mania band wagon.
Pastels, on the other hand, seem to be a trend that never fades. Though technically always around in warmer seasons, light mints and lilacs are still one of the biggest 2019 spring trends to spot this season. Add pops of pastel with a skirt, or spring jacket.
If you haven’t noticed, floral prints are EVERYWHERE! From designer looks right down to the $19.99 maxi dresses at Forever21 big colorful flowers are dominating looks this season. Not only is it a light, summery print, but its versatility makes it a great choice too. Dress up some florals for a night out, or go more relaxed for a beach vacay.
90’s inspired accessories
Carrie Bradshaw got it wrong because scrunchies are finally having a style moment. And remember those barrettes we stuck in the front of our hair through our teenage years, well they’re back too.
Updated, and with a tad more sophistication. Scrunchies and barrettes of 2019 are preppy, colorful, textured, pearled and the list goes on. So many options actually makes these accessories a fun way to express yourself.
