I don’t know if it was life imitating art, or the other way around, but recently one of our fall, Sunday strolls led us, as it usually does, down around the Lower East Side. Street art is everywhere around the Island these days, if you are willing to look around or look up, (Gasp!). And it, much like our current world today, is fleeting. Just like that 140 character tweet, and trending hashtag, the art is here, being instagrammed one minute, and gone the next. Billboard covered, or a new, blank slate ,waiting for the next NYC artist to take it over. Recently, we stumbled upon this stellar street art, and it was only after that stroll that I realized Grace Jones was just about everywhere; the talk of the town right now. From flashing her breasts, to declaring Gaga has no soul, Jones has been in the spotlight making headlines while promoting her new book, I’ll Never Write My Memoirs. Love her or hate her, it’s impossible to deny her legend, and her presence, still now in 2015. In a time when everyone seems to be copying another, Youtube tutorials abound, and Instastram feeds that look depressingly similar, you have to applaud someone still willing to stand out.
