February is a big month for pancakes. March 3rd is National pancake day at IHOP, and pancake month NYC is going on all month at Clinton St Baking co. The popular spot is offering up a variety of pancake options, especially during my favorite way to eat; breakfast for dinner. We ate here the other night, and it was sheer heaven. Brunch at Clinton is for amateurs. Real New Yorkers know the only time to go, (and the only time you can go without waiting over an hour) is at night.
Eating at Clinton St Baking Co at night is kind of like being in a Woody Allen movie. It’s super small; the sound of clinking glasses, and silverware hitting plates sounds exactly like a New York night should. In the background, Jazz is playing, and all I’m focused on is the man infront of me, and the blueberry pancakes directly below me. Right now, I’m not quite sure which one I love more. That is how good these are.
Do yourself a favor and hit up the spot before pancake month nyc ends at the end of Feb. I can’t promise you’ll get in if you don’t go at night but you will find your thrills on blueberry hill.
A night at Clinton is not the night to stay on the healthy track. So treat yourself and do NOT pass on the biscuits. If this meal is the gift, then lets just say the biscuits are a big part of the package.
